When is the Prado free?
Entry to the permanent collection is free in the last two hours of the day: Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 17:00 to 19:00. It lasts until the museum is full. Temporary exhibitions are not free in the same way.
Visitors under 18 enter free all day, and so do students up to 25 and a few other groups. They show a document and pick up the ticket on the day.
When is the last entry?
The last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and the galleries are cleared 10 minutes before closing. If you come in the free hours, you will have less time than the hour on the clock suggests.
What are the rules for bags and photos?
Photos and videos are not allowed in the galleries. Suitcases and bulky objects of more than 40 x 40 cm are not allowed, and neither are scooters and bicycles. The cloakroom lockers are limited, so travel light.
