When is the Reina Sofía free?
Individual visitors enter free on Monday and Wednesday to Saturday from 19:00 to 21:00, and on Sundays from 12:30 to 14:30. Groups do not. You still need a ticket, which you can book online.
Some whole days are free too: 18 April, 18 and 22 May, 12 October and 6 December. Under-18s, visitors over 65 and students up to 25 enter free with a document, at the ticket office on the day.
When is the last entry?
The last entry is 30 minutes before closing, and the rooms are cleared 15 minutes before. On Sundays that means you have little time after 14:00.
What are the rules for bags and photos?
Bags and small backpacks up to 40 x 30 x 10 cm are allowed, carried in front of you. Suitcases, large backpacks and objects longer than 50 cm are not allowed, not even in the lockers. You can take photos without flash, unless a sign says otherwise. Tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.
Can single rooms be closed?
Yes. Single rooms can close for installations or maintenance, so a work you want to see may be away for a while.
