The opening hours of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum change with the day of the week. It opens only at 12:00 on Mondays, closes at 23:00 on Saturdays, and in July and August it stays open until 21:00 from Tuesday to Friday. The last entry is 30 minutes before closing.

When is the Thyssen free?
The permanent collection is free on Mondays from 12:00 to 16:00, and you do not need to pick up a ticket. The temporary exhibitions on the lower floors are free on Saturdays from 21:00 to 23:00, also without a ticket. The museum is also free on 18 May and 12 October. Under-18s enter free at any time.
The Monday slot is only four hours long. The cloakroom is also closed on Mondays.
When is the last entry?
The ticket office closes 30 minutes before the museum does, and that is the last entry. On Saturday evenings that means 22:30.
What are the rules for bags and photos?
Small bags and backpacks are allowed. You can leave a suitcase in the cloakroom with that day's ticket, but not on Mondays. Photos and videos are allowed without flash, except for works marked as forbidden. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are not allowed.
